DT Project featuring With Sympathy

Today I tried my hand at a paper bag card. It was the first one that I created. I just used a lunch/sandwich bag that I bought at our local grocery store. I decided to trim that down a bit to app. 5 x 6 inches. I covered the front and back with designer paper from the Sn@p color vibe collection.

For the front I cut out 2 nesting butterflies from Lifestyle Crafts also with the color vibe papers. I also used the left over scarp from the backside to make my image stand and not float around. For my image I used the precious With Sympathy from Wicked Designs. I colored her up with my spectrum noirs. I popped the wings of the butterfly up with dimensional adhesive (just the green layer). For some added interest I used my liquid pearls in white opal to make some swirls on the wings and pearls on the bottom right. I also used the small monarch butterfly punch from Martha Stuart which I glittered up with crystal stickles. To finish it off I glued some crochet trim at the top/opening of the paper bag.

DT Project - Dancing Elegance Mini

My husband and I used to go to balls when we were dating years and years ago. I still had some pictures in my photo box from our fist dance/ball when we were dating for a good year, back in 2001. When I saw the awesome Dancing Elegance from Wicked Designs I knew that I wanted to do a mini with those photos and her.

I started with a dark red 12x12" card stock which I cut in half and then scored at the 4 and 8 inch line. I folded them accordeon style and glued 2 panels together to form a pocket in the middle. I covered each panel with a patterned paper from the Bo Bunny Enchanted collection. First I glued down some sheer ribbon to the back panel for the closure, though.

I kept the mini really simple as I love the paper and didn't want to cover the paper to much. The only embellishments that I used were some AC glitter tape and the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch which I punched with the same card stock and only added some wink of stella to it. I also made 2 tags with the same cardstock to hold 1 photo each. I punched the corners with my Valentrio punch from Fiskars.

I stamped the title with the Banner Day Alphabeth from MFT in Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Starlite Silver.

I colored Dancing Elegance with my specturm noirs:

eyes - IG8
mouth - CR3

dress - DR5, DR2, DR1, wink of stella

LBBS Miss Lily Reporter B-day Card

For this birthday card I used Miss Lily Reporter from Little Blue Button Stamps. I colored her up with my specrum noir markers. The card measures 5 7/8 x 5 7/8 inch. I also used patterned paper from the Disney Princess collection by Hot of the Press.
I used my brick wall template and Distress ink in pumice stone to create the ground to place my image on. I die cut the Eiffel Tower and a leavy flourish from MFT to create a Paris themed card. I stamped the happy birthday on a fancy tag die cut from Spellbinders. To add some finishing touches I stickled up the leaves and tips of the flourish and glued some star sequins to the sky.

Stair Step Card - Tilda In Cotton Dress

This is my first attempt at creating a stair step card. I used some pink card stock from bazzil, but I don't know which shade it is. The patterned paper is from the Disney princess collection as are the cut outs. I also stamped Tilda in cotton tres from Magnolia on white card stock and colored her in with my spectrum noir markers.

To finish the card off I added some sparkly hearts from WOC.

DT Project for Wicked Designs - Linda Loo

I wanted to create a birthday card for my sister and she loves Paris and dancing. So I decided that the totally adorable Linda Loo would be a perfect fit for her card. I used the Bo Bunny Enchanted collection as it is classy and very elegant. I used 3 different paper scraps from the collection and covered the front of my pre made card. I then added glitter ribbon (AC) across the 3 panels to give the Eiffel Tower a place to stand on. I cut the Eiffel Tower out of black card stock using my MFT die. I added my wink of stella on it to make it really sparkly.  On the bottom left I stamped Happy Birthay (AmyR Simply Enchanting) in red pigment ink and underlined it with a row of jewels. I poped Linda Loo on dimensionals to give the whole card more depth.

For the inside I used another die cut from the Eiffel Tower but I only glued the bottom down so that I can slide money or a gift card behind. I made some banners with the scraps that were left and stamped another stamp from the AmyR Simply Enchanting set.

Treat Container - Missing You

I saw a few people doing these treat containers out of envelopes. so I tought I need to try that out, too. I scored the bottom of the envelop at the 3/4 inch mark a few times and then measured the remaining part, so that I could cover the top part with papers. I used the birthday stack from paper pizazz. then I went around the top with some lace I had in my stash for quite some time. To hide the seam and give the container a little bit of extra, I cut out a star circle from Spellbinders in yellow card stock and added Missing you on top. I also used some star sticker that went with the theme.

I colored my image with the sprectrum noir markers. I tried to achieve a sepia effect, but that didn't turn out the way I wanted, but I still quite like how it turned out.

Yeti Card - Need a Hug?

For this card I used a dark blue pre made card and a scrap from the amy tangerine ready set go collection.  I stamped the yeti and pine trees from the Yeti, set, go set from Lawn Fawn on white card stock. I colored the yeti lightly with my color pencils and went over the white part with my clear wink of stella brush. I also used the wink of stella on the trees to make them sparkle like the snow. I cut a curve into the paper to mimik a landscape. I then glued the trees directly on the card. I also stamed my sentiment (need a hug?) and some snow flakes with silver pigment ink on the blue part. For the yeti I used some dimentional adhesive.
To finish the card of, I used a narrow blue washi tape that I purchased at IKEA. The inside I left blank (for now).

Altered Cigar Box - Fairy Box

I tried my hand at altering a cigar box again. This time the box was a little bigger than the last one and I started off with painting the whole box with white gesso to prime it. I think it took about 2 coats of gesso to cover the box completely. Then I went over the box with the molding paste and different stencils from TCW (The Crafters Workshop). I used the mini templates (6x6") cosmic swirls, ledger, time travel and star burst. When everything was dry I went over the whole box with my dylusions sprays in the blues, purples and teals. I also used the perfect pearl mist in turquoise to give the box some shimmer. This took several days to dry. I also wanted to use some stamps on the box so I colored Ima Butterfly and Fairy Abigail with my spectrum noirs and copics.

I added some roses (in different sizes and colors), calla lilies and leaves from WOC (Wild Orchid Crafts) in two clusters on the lid. Then I added some pearl and sparkly hearts and butterflies also from WOC to add some sparkle and dimention. To finish the top of, I added some diamond stickles on the roses.

On the bottom I glued 4 bingo chips as feet for the box.

Today is the birthday of my brother in law. He's turning 30, so I wanted to make him a special card. I used the echo park all about a boy stack and thickers in the flakey font (tannenbaum). I just layered some papers on a yellow card base and glued Johnny Hawk on top. I wrote happy birthday to you (hbd2u) on the bottom and a 30 on the inside. DT Project #1 for November

For todays card I used the really cute Doodle Bug from Wicked Designs. I love how she lays on the ground and is doodling away. She reminds me of my twins that really love to doodle and craft all the time.

I used a pre made card base in yellow and added some layers from echo park so happy together. I also used the Spellbinders Labels 7 that reminds me of a book, so I thought it would be perfect for her. I popped the bigger Labels 7 on foam adhesive to give some more dimension. and I only glued the center of the smaller label down to create some more dimension and make it more look like a book. I also added some ribbon from my stash.

I colored Doodle Bug with my spectrum noirs:
skin - FS9, FS4, FS2, CR3
eyes - IG8
hair - GB5, GB4, GB1
dress - TB3, TB2
socks - LG2, LG1
pencil - TN3, BT4

I added some glossy accents to her eyes and wink of stella in clear to her hair for a little something.

For the inside I just used a scrap from the outside paper and added some more ribbon.
