DT Project featuring With Sympathy

Today I tried my hand at a paper bag card. It was the first one that I created. I just used a lunch/sandwich bag that I bought at our local grocery store. I decided to trim that down a bit to app. 5 x 6 inches. I covered the front and back with designer paper from the Sn@p color vibe collection.

For the front I cut out 2 nesting butterflies from Lifestyle Crafts also with the color vibe papers. I also used the left over scarp from the backside to make my image stand and not float around. For my image I used the precious With Sympathy from Wicked Designs. I colored her up with my spectrum noirs. I popped the wings of the butterfly up with dimensional adhesive (just the green layer). For some added interest I used my liquid pearls in white opal to make some swirls on the wings and pearls on the bottom right. I also used the small monarch butterfly punch from Martha Stuart which I glittered up with crystal stickles. To finish it off I glued some crochet trim at the top/opening of the paper bag.

DT Project - Dancing Elegance Mini

My husband and I used to go to balls when we were dating years and years ago. I still had some pictures in my photo box from our fist dance/ball when we were dating for a good year, back in 2001. When I saw the awesome Dancing Elegance from Wicked Designs I knew that I wanted to do a mini with those photos and her.

I started with a dark red 12x12" card stock which I cut in half and then scored at the 4 and 8 inch line. I folded them accordeon style and glued 2 panels together to form a pocket in the middle. I covered each panel with a patterned paper from the Bo Bunny Enchanted collection. First I glued down some sheer ribbon to the back panel for the closure, though.

I kept the mini really simple as I love the paper and didn't want to cover the paper to much. The only embellishments that I used were some AC glitter tape and the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch which I punched with the same card stock and only added some wink of stella to it. I also made 2 tags with the same cardstock to hold 1 photo each. I punched the corners with my Valentrio punch from Fiskars.

I stamped the title with the Banner Day Alphabeth from MFT in Memento Tuxedo Black and Brilliance Starlite Silver.

I colored Dancing Elegance with my specturm noirs:

eyes - IG8
mouth - CR3

dress - DR5, DR2, DR1, wink of stella

LBBS Miss Lily Reporter B-day Card

For this birthday card I used Miss Lily Reporter from Little Blue Button Stamps. I colored her up with my specrum noir markers. The card measures 5 7/8 x 5 7/8 inch. I also used patterned paper from the Disney Princess collection by Hot of the Press.
I used my brick wall template and Distress ink in pumice stone to create the ground to place my image on. I die cut the Eiffel Tower and a leavy flourish from MFT to create a Paris themed card. I stamped the happy birthday on a fancy tag die cut from Spellbinders. To add some finishing touches I stickled up the leaves and tips of the flourish and glued some star sequins to the sky.

This is my first attempt at creating a stair step card. I used some pink card stock from bazzil, but I don't know which shade it is. The patterned paper is from the Disney princess collection as are the cut outs. I also stamped Tilda in cotton tres from Magnolia on white card stock and colored her in with my spectrum noir markers.

To finish the card off I added some sparkly hearts from WOC.

DT Project for Wicked Designs - Linda Loo

I wanted to create a birthday card for my sister and she loves Paris and dancing. So I decided that the totally adorable Linda Loo would be a perfect fit for her card. I used the Bo Bunny Enchanted collection as it is classy and very elegant. I used 3 different paper scraps from the collection and covered the front of my pre made card. I then added glitter ribbon (AC) across the 3 panels to give the Eiffel Tower a place to stand on. I cut the Eiffel Tower out of black card stock using my MFT die. I added my wink of stella on it to make it really sparkly.  On the bottom left I stamped Happy Birthay (AmyR Simply Enchanting) in red pigment ink and underlined it with a row of jewels. I poped Linda Loo on dimensionals to give the whole card more depth.

Treat Container - Missing You

I saw a few people doing these treat containers out of envelopes. so I tought I need to try that out, too. I scored the bottom of the envelop at the 3/4 inch mark a few times and then measured the remaining part, so that I could cover the top part with papers. I used the birthday stack from paper pizazz. then I went around the top with some lace I had in my stash for quite some time. To hide the seam and give the container a little bit of extra, I cut out a star circle from Spellbinders in yellow card stock and added Missing you on top. I also used some star sticker that went with the theme.

I colored my image with the sprectrum noir markers. I tried to achieve a sepia effect, but that didn't turn out the way I wanted, but I still quite like how it turned out.

Yeti Card - Need a Hug?

For this card I used a dark blue pre made card and a scrap from the amy tangerine ready set go collection.  I stamped the yeti and pine trees from the Yeti, set, go set from Lawn Fawn on white card stock. I colored the yeti lightly with my color pencils and went over the white part with my clear wink of stella brush. I also used the wink of stella on the trees to make them sparkle like the snow. I cut a curve into the paper to mimik a landscape. I then glued the trees directly on the card. I also stamed my sentiment (need a hug?) and some snow flakes with silver pigment ink on the blue part. For the yeti I used some dimentional adhesive.
To finish the card of, I used a narrow blue washi tape that I purchased at IKEA. The inside I left blank (for now).

Altered Cigar Box - Fairy Box

I tried my hand at altering a cigar box again. This time the box was a little bigger than the last one and I started off with painting the whole box with white gesso to prime it. I think it took about 2 coats of gesso to cover the box completely. Then I went over the box with the molding paste and different stencils from TCW (The Crafters Workshop). I used the mini templates (6x6") cosmic swirls, ledger, time travel and star burst. When everything was dry I went over the whole box with my dylusions sprays in the blues, purples and teals. I also used the perfect pearl mist in turquoise to give the box some shimmer. This took several days to dry. I also wanted to use some stamps on the box so I colored Ima Butterfly and Fairy Abigail with my spectrum noirs and copics.

I added some roses (in different sizes and colors), calla lilies and leaves from WOC (Wild Orchid Crafts) in two clusters on the lid. Then I added some pearl and sparkly hearts and butterflies also from WOC to add some sparkle and dimention. To finish the top of, I added some diamond stickles on the roses.

I just layered some papers on a yellow card base and glued Johnny Hawk on top. I wrote happy birthday to you (hbd2u) on the bottom and a 30 on the inside. DT Project #1 for November

For todays card I used the really cute Doodle Bug from Wicked Designs. I love how she lays on the ground and is doodling away. She reminds me of my twins that really love to doodle and craft all the time.

I used a pre made card base in yellow and added some layers from echo park so happy together. I also used the Spellbinders Labels 7 that reminds me of a book, so I thought it would be perfect for her. I popped the bigger Labels 7 on foam adhesive to give some more dimension. and I only glued the center of the smaller label down to create some more dimension and make it more look like a book. I also added some ribbon from my stash.

I colored Doodle Bug with my spectrum noirs:
skin - FS9, FS4, FS2, CR3
eyes - IG8
hair - GB5, GB4, GB1
dress - TB3, TB2
socks - LG2, LG1
pencil - TN3, BT4

I added some glossy accents to her eyes and wink of stella in clear to her hair for a little something.

Wee Snippet's Bubbles

I challenged myself today to make a card using paper from a christmas collection but not doing a christmas/winter card. I started with a yellow card base and I selected 2 papers from the My Mind's Eye 'tis the season collection. The green paper is not that christmassy and I really liked the tone on tone swirls on it. The blue paper actually has a lot of ornaments on it, but I think you have to look closely to notice that it's actually christmas paper... I just thought it gave the card some interest.

I inked all the edges with Memento Teal Zeal ink. I stamped the sentiment on yellow cardstock and cut it out in a fishtail banner. The sentiment is from Amy R Sunny Sentiments. I really love those sentiment stamps, they are so versetail.  I also used the last bit of the bling swirl from WOC, which is really beautiful and sparkly. I colored my imagage, Wee Snippet's Bubbles from Whimsy Stamps with my spectrum noirs, added some Waterfall stickles on her wings and glossy accents on her eyes and the bubbles.

skin - FS9, FS4, FS2, CR3
hair - PP3, PP1

flower - LG2, LG1, BT4, BT3
wings - LG1, BT1, IB1, PP1

I really like how the bubbles turned out, they look really shimmery and have the colors that the actual bubbles have.

DT Project for Wicked Designs

Today I wanted to share another card that I made using Light the Way again. I decided to do a Christmas card using the teresa collins Noël collection. I layered different papers from the collection and colored my image in black and white. It was the fist time trying out the black and white in coloring an image. I quite like how it turned out.

To make the card more festive I used bling from WOC as well as some small poinsettias also from WOC. I added glossy accents on her eyes and the lantern.

I colored Light the Way with my specrum noirs:
skin - IG3, IG1
hair - IG7, IG5, IG3
eyes - True Black
mouth - IG4
dress - IG8, IG7, IG5
shoe - True Black, IG8
lantern  IG5, IG4, IG3, IG1, Blender

For the inside I just used the reminder of the papers, that I used and also a little of the bling swirl. For my sentiment I used the CC Designs Funny Christmas sentiments. I thought it went so well with the adorable light the way.

I'd like to also enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp Weekly Challenge.

Fall Card

I made a little note card with a 4x4 card base. I used some christmas paper from My Mind's Eye 'tis the Season and cut out a journaling card using the lawn fawn die. To add some interest I wrapped some wide washi tape with a woodgrain pattern around and on top of that the fall leaves from Doodlebug Designs.

I stamped the deer from Into the Woods from Lawn Fawn on brown card stock and fussy cut it out. I added some icicle stickles on the dots to make it sparkle a little bit. I also stamped out the speech bubble with the heart on yellow card stock using the Morocco Memento ink. I tied a bow with some black and orange ribbon and also added a metal accent from the TPC Studio to finish up the card front.

On the inside I added some more of the same washi tapes and I also stamped this really adorable acorn.

I would like to enter this card into the challenge at digitaldesignsbybrenda.blogspot.com

Fall card

For this fall card I used a 4x4 inch card base. I added a piece of orange paper on top that I run through my big shot with the Darice embossing folder Leaves Assorted. I inked the paper with my Distress inks in wild honey and rusty hinge to make the pattern stand out more. I stamped the fox and the squirrel from the Lawn Fawn into the woods stamp set on white card stock and colored them in with my color pencils.

I also cut a banner from the Lawn Fawn Journaling Card die set and stamped I heart fall on it also from the Lawn Fawn into the woods stamps set. I colored the heart with a red color pencil and added some burgundy stickles on top. I also used diamond stickles on the tip of the tail from the fox and the stripe on the squirrel.  To finish the card of I tied a bow with some black and orange gingam ribbon.

I would like to enter this card into the monthly challenge at Little Blue Button Stamps. If you want to participate you have time until November 8th.

4 Super Simple Shaped Cards using Whimsy Stamps

Today I want to share 4 really simple cards that I made after I received my new Whimsy stamps. I just wanted to play a little so I made some shaped cards using the Spellbinders labels 28 and 22. For my card bases I used Stampin' up card stock in crumb cake and wisteria wonder. I also added some sequins and Stickles to my cards to finish them up. The images I colored with my color pencils. So here they are:

For my first card I used Sealed with a Kiss from the Crissy Armstrong Collection and the spellbinders labels 28. I really love those cute seals. I only used 2 colors to color the image. White and a turquoisy color for the shading. I tried to add some structure to the fur.

For this card I used Snow Fun also from the Crissy Armstrong Collection. For the snow I used frosted lace stickles.

This flamingo is from the 2 cute ink collection and the set is called Fun in the Sun. So you notice I couldn't decide if I wanted to go with some winter or summer cards... So I did both :). I stickled the water and I added sequins to the sun and just on the border. As the image is on the smaller size it was perfect to use with the Spellbinders labels 22.

The Fun in the Sun set also comes with this cute owl, floating in the sea. I used glossy accents for the goggles and stickles for the bubbles. I also added some star sequins. The cards are not quite finished yet. But as I do not know what I want to use them for, I will come back later and add a sentiment on the front or the inside...

For this card I used my Spellbinders Labels 28 to cut my card base out of Stampin' up Crumb cake card stock. I layered a piece of coffe paper on top. To make that stand out a little more, I inked around the edges with vintage photo distress ink. I laid some washi tape across the bottom part, to make my image sit on. As my focal I used Java Queen from Wicked Designs. I colored her up with my specrum noirs.

Canvas for Christening

At the end of the month my nephew is going to be christened. I am his godmother and I wanted him to have a special present for this event. So I decided to try my hand at a mixed media canvas. It's the first one I made. I started of with some stamping using different impression obsession stamps. I don't think that you can see them anymore, though. Then I added some molding paste with my TCW 6x6 stencils.

After that was dry I sprayed the whole canvas with the different blue, teal and green colors I have from the Dylusion sprays. I also used the star and the swirl stencil again with some water to give some more texture.

Lastly I cut out the letters to spell out love, faith and hope in German using my High Rise Alphabeth Uppercase from MFT.

I hope he and his mother like what I created.

Today I want to share 2 christmas cards I made using Trim the tree from C.C. Designs as my focal.

Christmas/Winter Ornaments

This is a project that I made with my 3 children as christmas presents for this year. We got different sized acrylic(?) balls (and hearts). We filled one half with decorative snow which you can get around christmas time in most stores... I bought mine after christmas in clearance. To make them more fun and as I have 3 girls we also added different colored glitter. All you have to do then is close the balls/hearts and add a bit of twine so they can be hanged from the tree or where ever you want to put them up.

I am considering to put some bowes on the top part, but I'm not quite sure yet.

Halloween ATCs

Today I want to share something a little different... I made some Halloween ATCs. These are the fist ones I created and I had so much fun doing them! I started with stampin' up Wisteria Wonder Cardstock and cut it to size (2,5 x 3,5 inches). I layered some papers (scraps) from the October Afternoon Witch Hazel collection on them and added some molding paste on top of that with my TCW Mini Time Tavel.
